Comparing the shopping experience in HongDae, MyeongDong, and Ehwa is hard, if not impossible. The three places cater to different markets, but are all popular shopping destinations. That said, this will be just a general overview of what to expect from the three – in case you’re pressed for time and just have one place to visit.

Since I am from the Philippines, I will be writing this topic with perspective of the Philippine Peso (referred to as PHP later in this article).
During my first trip to Seoul in April 2013, I had a hard time exchanging my then US dollars (USD) to Korean won (KRW). My province does not have many KRW users, apparently. I didn’t want to go to Manila just to exchange my money so I settled with what small conversion I got, and just brought a few hundred USDs to exchange in Seoul.
While I was browsing through online resources for my trip to Seoul, I stumbled upon Enjoy Mobile Korea or EMK.
Enjoy Mobile Korea is hosted by Korea Tourism Organization together with SK Telecom. This offer is available to foreign visitors of Korea for a “free rental of the latest smartphones” including free voice and data services (1GB per day) for 5 days.

As part of my South Korea 2016 travel tips, this time, let’s talk about the transportation in Korea, particularly in Seoul.
I have been to Seoul 3 times, and the trains and subways are my best friends. To be honest, I haven’t mastered the art of riding the trains, nor do I know the difference between subway and train (I know in Japan there’s a difference, like on land or underneath it, or that in London they’re called Tube or Train, not subway because that’s a restaurant HAHA). In Manila, we only have Rail that goes on and under land. Anyway, Seoul pretty much have the best transportation system among the countries I’ve been at. Not that there are many, but a lot of people who have been to Seoul would probably say the same. Every nook and cranny of the city is accessible by train, if not, then by bus.

After finishing my travel diary for South Korea 2015, I’ll begin another series related to my spirit country. This time, South Korea 2016 will mostly be travel tips when travelling to Seoul. I hope this will be beneficial to those who will visit Korea – Seoul specifically – for the first time.
I read a lot about the places to visit in Seoul, and how to go to these places, but only a few cater to guidelines when you actually tour the city for the first time. Hence, this will be a master post of some of the tips I can share with you guys if you want to visit the city. I haven’t completely written out this series, so please check back if I have added anything new.

P.S. I did not focus on touring this time because I mainly visited the city to watch a concert (two concerts, but of the same artist lol). I did visit a few places I haven’t been to before, but only to fill in the hours before the concert.
This is the last day we’ll be spending in Korea, and we made sure we covered a lot of places.
The last time I went to Korea, my sister teased me that I did not even try wearing a hanbok – Korea’s traditional clothing. I actually forgot about it, to be honest.
Now we have an extremely short title.
Tired from the previous day, we left the guest house late. HAHA. Which was really a bad decision since we will be going out of Seoul for the day to Nami Island, and supposedly to Petite France.
I’m starting to see my titles are always a mouthful.
I was so thankful that we didn’t walk too much in our K-Pop adventure. Day 4 was the real all about walking.

We have prepared ourselves for a rather looooong walk for this day because we will be agency-hopping. We didn’t schedule anything else for the day. It was purely K-Pop day! I will apologize ahead of time as most of the pictures will contain my sister, as this was her day. If you know what I mean. Haha.

My sister is a huge fan of BAP, and I followed her fandom just late or middle of 2014 before the group went into hiatus with their agency. But that didn’t deter our love for the group. The news of comeback recently only made our eagerness to meet them. But since we were in Seoul early (the comeback is half a month later in mid-November) we decided to jump on the bandwagon and go to TS. It’s relatively near MyeongDong anyway.
