SOUTH KOREA 2016: Dal.Komm and Songdo Central Park

It was a good thing we arrived early morning at Incheon Airport. Despite the lack of sleep from a midnight flight, I was very much excited of the sub-zero temperature, and Carla was excited for her first trip overseas. So we deposited our luggage at the airport and left for the business district.

Songdo is a district in Incheon developed to be similar to New York as an international business hub. It identifies itself as a smart city having computerized a number of controls such as heating system, lighting, and can even report crimes remotely. And as it wants to follow the footsteps of New York, there’s also a central park.

The two reasons why we want to go here was basically the Song Triplets and Descendants of the Sun. From the map of the area below, you can see that these two places are very near each other you can consider that this particular branch of Dal.Komm belongs to the Songdo Central Park neighborhood. LOL

To get here from the airport at the arrivals level, you can ride the Korean Airlines (KAL) Limousine Bus 6707B at Bus Stop 4A and alight at Orakai Songdo Hotel. This is W7000 one way. You can get your ticket just before the exit, they have a booth there at the airport. You can also get tickets at Orakai Songdo Hotel, at the reception. Or you can get it on the bus. Songdo Central Park is directly opposite from the bus stop. And you can walk past it to get to the Dal.Komm Songdo branch.

This one is a good itinerary if you’re into the Song Triplets and dramas in general. Legend of the Blue Sea also shot a portion of the 1st episode here featuring the Tri-Bowl. Goblin shot a few scenes at the Gyeongwonjae Ambassador Incheon which is within the premises of Songdo Central Park for episode 13.

We sort of just went around the area looking for familiar places but we didn’t cross the canal to the other side because we felt like we’re running out of time and body heat. We had our luggages checked in for about 6 hours and we sort of stayed at Dal.Komm for more than an hour, Travel time was 1 hour back and forth, excluding waiting time. Plus it was under -5 degree-C already, and Carla was wearing ripped jeans without anything to protect her exposed knees. LOL
